Teddy Bear's Luncheon on the Grass
Based on Manet's Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe. When the original painting was exhibited at the first Salon des Refuseés, it caused a scandal, since without the conventional markers of genre and narrative that usually justified the presence of nude figures, viewers were left with a contemporary scene of a naked woman with two clothed men. Many considered it obscene, and arguments about it continued for years.
